The new Super Days Worth fly box from Cliff Outdoors will do just what
its name implies: hold an entire day’s worth of flies in one rugged, easily packable
box. Measuring 6” L x 4” W x 1-5/8” D, the clear plastic Super Days Worth
is pre-configured to hold and organize dry flies, nymphs, streamers, egg
flies, wet flies and anything else you’ve got with a hook. One side of
the lid is fitted with seven closed-cell foam strips for pinning dry
flies of any size vertically to protect the hackle, while the other side
has a full-size magnetic panel with two closed-cell foam strips that
divide it into four separate compartments for storing nymphs, wet flies
or eggs. A rigid, clear plastic center divider offers a full-sized slit-foam panel
for storing streamers or other large patterns with
long or varying length tails. See it at your fly shop

Scierra CC6 Waders
After surviving the worst winter in recent memory—we got over 13 feet of snow here in northern New
Hampshire—spring has, at last, arrived. With air temperatures in the mid 50s, and the ice out of the rivers,
we finally had a chance to put Scierra’s new CC6 waders through our “full Monty” wader testing regime.
CC6 stocking-foot waders are the most recent model on the market to feature a full-height, waterproof front
zipper. In this case, that zipper is a premium RiRi, the same zipper used in diver’s dry suits. CC6s are constructed
with Scierra’s proven 4-layer, waterproof, breathable fabric system with Finetex permeable membrane, with 6-layer
reinforcing in the seat and on the leg fronts from mid thigh down for added puncture resistance. Other features
include articulated knees, anatomically correct neoprene booties with integral stretch-fabric gravel guards, two
laminated front chest pockets with YKK waterproof zippers, two flip-out zippered interior pockets, 1.5-inch wide
elastic shoulder straps with quick-detach buckles that permit conversion to waist-highs, and an integral wader
belt with infinitely adjustable Velcro tabs on both sides.
I got the nod as “testing dummy,” which meant that I got to
stand up to my armpits in the 38-degree waters of the Saco
River, flexing that RiRi zipper in every conceivable axis for
over an hour trying to get it to leak. I’m happy to report that
my efforts were a complete failure. See them at your fly shop,

Scientific Anglers
Spey Classic Multi Tip
With more fly anglers getting hooked on the benefits of
two-handed rods for salmon and steelhead (and saltwater, too),
Scientific Anglers has expanded their Spey line offerings with
the new Mastery Series Spey Classic Multi Tip, a 130-foot Spey
line with four interchangeable, 15-foot tips.
Available in line weights 5 through 10, the Mastery Series Spey Classic
Multi Tip incorporates advanced tapers with mid-length heads to deliver the best all-around casting
performance across the range of casting distances typically encountered. Head lengths run from 60
feet for the 5-weight model up to 70 feet for the 10-weight. The Spey Classic Multi Tip’s small-diameter
floating running line is a pale olive green, while the floating body section is bright orange. Four interchangeable, 15-foot,
loop-on tips, packed in a mesh tip wallet, are included: full floating, clear intermediate (1.5 to 2 i.p.s. sink rate), Type 3 sinking (3 to 5 i.p.s.
sink rate, dark green) and Type 6 sinking (6 to 8 i.p.s. sink rate, dark grey). Built on heavy, multi-filament, braided-nylon cores, the line and
tips are designed to stay supple in cold water. SciA’s exclusive Xtra-Strength Streamlined Loops are fitted at the head end of the line and all
tips, making tip changes a 30-second proposition. The floating line and floating tip are coated with specially formulated 3M PVC with AST
for minimal friction and long life. See the Spey Classic Multi Tip at your fly shop ($149.95), or contact 3M Scientific Anglers, Dept.
