NUNAVUT
• Victoria Island
• High Arctic Lodge
Nunavut—the land of the midnight sun. This ancient, primordial land is unique in all the world. The High Arctic Lodge is located on Canada’s
remote, pristine Victoria Island, and is the world’s northernmost hunting/fishing lodge. Anadromous Arctic char and lake trout are the quarry here.
Char are the most northerly game fish and grow to world record proportions here like no other place.
Arctic char and lake trout are related to brook trout. The char have a run more powerful than the Atlantic salmon, and resplendent in their brilliant
spawning colors, are as beautiful as any fish that swims. These fish have never seen a fly, and fishing is catch-and-release only.
This is an unparalleled experience—perhaps the most unique fishing destination on earth. This vast wilderness is noted for scintillating northern lights,
and its flora and fauna simply wondrous. Polar bears, wolves, Arctic fox, walrus, narwhales, bow whales, musk ox, and caribou live in this land of the Inuit.
The Inuit culture survives here, with its soapstone carvings and bone artwork and tools. The fishing season here is extremely short—July 17
through August 15—so plan your trip well in advance. Heated cabins, sumptuous meals, and daily fly-outs to rivers and streams feeding the lake
and remote outpost camps are all included in the standard package. Rates are $4,795/week for up to 12 rods, all inclusive from Cambridge Bay. For
