THE GREAT SAILFISHING COMPANY
Imagine a fishing destination where for thousands of years native anglers
caught gamefish with bone hooks and reed fishing traps. Imagine a fishing lodge
surrounded by pristine flats, crooked palms, idle trade-winds, the second longest
barrier reef in the world, and sunsets that would make the gods weep. Welcome to
Turneffe Flats in Belize.
Turneffe Flats is one of the most unique fly-fishing destinations in the world.
Accommodations are in charming cabins situated right on the beach, with the
reef just a short wade away. And with over 250 square miles of flats in this atoll
ecosystem, the fly-fishing opportunities are virtually limitless. Getting to T-Flats is
simple, as well: Fly into Belize City, climb aboard one of their comfortable Ocean
Master Jet Boats, and relax as you cruise to the Turneffe Atoll, daydreaming of
tailing bonefish and permit.

“schoolie” brethren. A 7- or 8-weight, fast-action rod is the weapon of choice for
